Among the topics of the symposia and paper sessions will be a wide array of cornea offerings. Saturday, April 26 A symposium to update attendees on the present and future of corneal collagen crosslinking will take place from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. The session will discuss the current status of crosslinking in the United States and will have comments from Wiley Chambers II, MD, deputy director of the Division of Transplant and Ophthalmology Products, Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, FDA. Other speakers will look at ethical concerns with crosslinking, what can currently be done, and an international perspective on the t echnique. A cornea session from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. will focus exclusively on keratoconus, including decisions for keratoconus management, patient acceptance and tolerance, and identifying different types and characteristics of keratoconus. Sunday, April 27 A session from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m., "Cornea: FALK, FLEK, DALK, D MEK," will explore a number of different techniques, including the DMEK learning curve, using the big bubble technique for DMEK, using the femtosecond laser deep anterior lamellar dissection for DALK and DSAEK, and penetrating keratoplasty performed with a femtosecond laser. A SCRS•ASOA Preview • A pril 25–29, 2014 Terry Kim, MD, speaking at last year's Cornea Day, will moderate a symposium with Doyle Stulting, MD, PhD, on corneal collagen crosslinking on April 28.
