Monday On Monday from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., the "ASCRS Course: 360-degree clear corneal trabeculectomy for comprehensive ophthalmologists in surgical management of open-angle glaucoma" will be instructed by David Badawi, MD, and Steven R. Sarkisian Jr., MD, will be faculty. "Geared toward comprehensive ophthalmologists and glaucoma spe- cialists alike, the course will include a lecture, panel discussion, videos, and follow-up Q&A session," the preview said. From 1:00 to 2:30 p.m., the "ASCRS Course: Microinvasive glaucoma surgery: Indications, approaches, and techniques" will feature information on the use of microstents in glaucoma. "New approaches and indica- tions, specific surgical techniques and pearls, and complications man- agement will be presented using multimedia, graphics, and video," the program said. Dr. Ahmed is the instructor of the course, which features expert faculty. The "ASCRS Paper Session 3-K: Glaucoma" from 1:00 to 2:35 p.m. will be moderated by Garry P. Condon, MD, and will feature a variety of research results related to the topic including subset manage- ment, imaging, and devices. From 3:00 to 4:30 p.m., the "ASCRS Course: Tubes, ties, and videotape: Surgical video of glau- coma implants and managing com- plications" will have clinical photos, patient history, and edited video of challenging glaucoma cases with tube shunt treatment and postopera- tive complication management. The instructor is Herbert P. Fechter III, MD. Also from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m., the " S-19 Symposium: Managing refrac- tive issues in glaucoma patients," sponsored by the ASCRS Glaucoma Clinical Committee, will examine how to handle glaucoma patients and refractive problems. Topics to be discussed are cataract surgery alone or combined with MIGS or filtration surgery, or filtration or tube shunt s urgery alone in these cases. The benefits of femtosecond cataract surgery in these patients will also be highlighted by Dr. Ahmed. Paul Harasymowycz, MD, and Steven D. Vold, MD, will moderate the symposium. Tuesday On Tuesday, the "ASCRS Course: Surgery for coexisting cataract and glaucoma: Uneasy relationship" from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. will have Ahmad K. Khalil, MD, as instructor and expert faculty discussing the topic. The course will provide atten- dees with options for coexisting cataract and glaucoma management. Also from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., the "ASCRS Course: Surgical man- agement of coexisting cataract and glaucoma: Special emphasis on pseu- doexfoliation" will review surgical options for cataract and glaucoma with a look at pseudoexfoliation and its impact. Dr. Shingleton will instruct the course. An ASCRS Course from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. is "Surgical management of patients with coexisting cataract and glaucoma" with instructor Desmond TungLien Quek, MBBS, FRCSEd, and expert faculty looking at management options for patients with cataract and glaucoma.
