"We're going to end the meeting with Jim Mazzo, president of AMO [Abbott Medical Optics, Santa Ana, Calif.], who is going to talk about the impact of the presidential election on innovation in the U.S. and beyond," Dr. Cunningham said. "I think it was simply bringing all of the constituents together in one place who have an interest in developing new drugs and devices for treating ophthalmic disease and letting them see the hottest companies and technologies and hear what the issues are," Dr. Cunningham said. "I would like doctors to take away five or six new contacts who would be useful in the future to whatever it is that they have as their primary goal, whether that be bringing one of their ideas to market or participating in bringing someone else's ideas to market," Dr. Lindstrom said.
