The restaurant opened in its current location in the mid-1950s after its founder's death. Menus feature a wide array of drink options, as well as many dishes that are Brennan's take on traditional dishes. The restaurant features a lunch and dinner menu with a number of small plate, soup and salad options, as well as entrees. It also has many dessert and bar options. The restaurant is in the Garden District of New Orleans and has been around since 1880. The Commander's Palace incorporates Creole and American inspired cuisine. Housed in a building from the 1880s, the restaurant offers two floors of dining, as well as a bar. The southern cuisine highlights local products. Although it is closed on Tuesdays, Coquette has separate lunch, dinner, brunch, and dessert menus, with options for pairings. The restaurant also has a variety of drinks on the wine, beer, and cocktail lists. Lunch, dinner, dessert, and bistro options are available. Herbsaint also has the option for private dining for up to 50 guests. Quick and affordable options La Petite Grocery 4238 Magazine St. 504-891-3377 www.lapetitegrocery.com Cuisine: Traditional New Orleans This restaurant and bar has a rich history. Opening in 2004, the building that houses La Petit Grocery is more than 100 years old. Initially it was meant to serve as a grocery and delivery store for the area, specializing in teas, coffees, and butter. Now more than a century later, the restaurant aims to provide an authentic New Orleans dining experience. The restaurant has a variety of pizza and sausage plates, as well as sandwiches, salads, and appetizers. You also might want to try some of their daily lunch specials and happy hour deals. Lilette 3637 Magazine St. 504-895-1636 www.liletterestaurant.com Cuisine: French and Italian inspired Chef and owner John Harris opened Lilette after finding and restoring the building in late 2000. He created a "classic New Orleans" inspired restaurant. The menu is meant to feature both French and Italian inspired cuisine and focuses on in-season selections and special offerings that are constantly changing. The restaurant has lunch and dinner menus, with a variety of appetizers, Café Du Monde 800 Decatur St. 504-525-4544 www.cafedumonde.com Originally a coffee stand in the French Market, Café Du Monde is a great place to go any day or time to get coffee and beignets. With multiple locations and the French Market location open 24 hours a day, this is a place in New Orleans that is not to be missed.
