SUNDAY, APRIL 7 ASCRS Main Stage 10:00–11:30 a.m. This year's Richard L. Lindstrom, MD, Lecture will be given by Renato Ambrosio Jr., MD, PhD. The session will also feature the Charles D. Kelman, MD, Innovator's Lecture, which will be delivered by David F. Chang, MD. ASCRS Government Relations Symposium 1:30–3:00 p.m. This session, titled "Politics, The Election, Healthcare: What Lies Ahead For America," will feature Charlie Cook, founder of the Cook Political Report and one of the nation's leading authorities on U.S. elections and political trends. He will offer attendees his expert insights on how the current political atmosphere and the upcoming election will affect ophthalmologists. ASCRS Main Stage 1:30–3:00 p.m. The Cataract Olympics session will be a vid- eo program highlighting practical pearls for routine and complicated cataract surgery. ASCRS Film Festival 5:15–7:00 p.m. The 42nd ASCRS Film Festival reception and ceremony will give attendees the oppor- tunity to see who will take home this year's top prizes for exceptional submissions in ophthalmic film. MONDAY, APRIL 8 ASCRS Main Stage 10:00–11:30 a.m. Monday on the Main Stage will feature a new session "Having 'The Talk.'" Seasoned physicians will share personal experiences and strategies for educating, counseling, and managing patients in an efficient man- ner on a variety of topics including appropri- ate expectations, technology tradeoffs, and out-of-pocket costs. ASCRS Main Stage 3:30–5:00 p.m. The Best of ASCRS session will highlight some of the most important and interesting pa- pers presented at the meeting from among the Best Paper of Session winners.
