52 | EYEWORLD | SPRING 2024 ASCRS NEWS Highlights of the 2024 Annual Meeting THURSDAY, APRIL 4 Eyecelerator @ ASCRS 8:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. (Reception at 4:30 p.m.) Eyecelerator will take place at the Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport and promis- es an exciting day of programming that focuses on innovation in anterior segment surgery. Attendees will have the opportunity to network and hear from many innovative companies. FRIDAY, APRIL 5 ASCRS Subspecialty Day 8:00 a.m.–3:45 p.m. Programming for ASCRS Subspecialty Day will cover a variety of topics in refractive, cornea, and glaucoma. ASCRS Exhibit Hall 12:00–5:00 p.m. The ASCRS Exhibit Hall will be open in Hall A & B from 12:00–5:00 p.m. on Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and from 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. on Monday. Attendees can browse the many booths and visit the ASCRS Tap Room. ASCRS will also kick off its 50th anniversary celebration on Friday from 12:15–12:30 p.m. with a cake cutting. YES Skills Labs Throughout the day will be YES Skills Labs fo- cusing on phaco, anterior segment surgery, DALK, DMEK/DSAEK, and hands on Yamane technique (a Yamane lab will also take place on Saturday). ASCRS Main Stage 4:10–5:30 p.m. (Reception at 3:45 p.m.) This kickoff of the ASCRS Annual Meeting will feature discussions with the outgoing and incoming presidents, the presentation of the ASCRS Foundation Chang-Crandall Human- itarian Award, the presentation of the ASCRS Educator Award, and recognition of this year's inductee into the ASCRS Hall of Fame. It will also feature special honors and recog- nitions for the 50th anniversary of ASCRS. eyePAC Reception 5:30–7:00 p.m. This year, the eyePAC Reception will be held at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate. Open to those who have contributed at a certain level to eye- PAC, attendees can enjoy food and beverag- es and a look at a replica of the Senate floor. ASCRS ASOA Party for a Purpose 8:00 p.m.–Midnight Attendees can enjoy a night of fun and philanthropy at this event, with donations benefiting the ASCRS Foundation. The Party for a Purpose will be held at Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport. ASCRS, ASOA, and industry attendees, as well as their guests, are welcome. Attendees are encouraged to wear 70s-inspired attire and "party like it's 1974." Expect 70s music, games, and a fashion show. SATURDAY, APRIL 6 ASCRS Main Stage 10:00–11:30 a.m. Saturday's programming on the Main Stage will include the Cornelius D. Binkhorst, MD, Lecture by Mitchell Weikert, MD. Guest speak- er Annie Duke will also be featured. A former professional poker player, she will discuss knowing when to quit and how to make
