Paper sessions will focus on IOLs, devices and techniques, med- ications, complications in LASIK, SMILE, and ectasia, and more. Skills transfer labs will highlight MIGS and anterior vitrectomy. April 17 On the final day of the meeting, the popular X-Rounds session, focusing on refractive cataract surgery, is back from 10:00–11:30 a.m. There will also be a symposium on laser cataract surgery, as well as the Best of ASCRS General Session to wrap up the meeting. Instructional courses will high- light topics like astigmatism man- agement, challenging situations, toric IOL outcomes, and phakic IOLs. Paper sessions will focus on IOL power calculations, practice pat- terns/training, and more. EW There will be many sessions dedicated to cataract and refractive topics throughout the Annual Meeting April 13 Refractive Day is back again this year before the Annual Meeting officially begins. Sessions will cover "Refrac- tive Corneal Surgery: From Good to Great," "Achieving Premium Results With Refractive Lens Surgery," "Tips, Pearls, and Take-Home Messages," and "Choosing and Using the Right IOL." The Refractive Day program will also include the Steinert Refrac- tive Lecture, which will be given this year by Richard Lindstrom, MD. For more details on Refractive Day, see page 48. April 14 The program on Saturday will feature a variety of courses, sympo- sia, skills transfer labs, and papers sessions that will highlight cataract and refractive topics. Back again at this year's meet- ing will be a symposium from 1:00–2:30 p.m. on "Challenging Video Cases for the Young Eye Surgeon," which is sponsored by the ASCRS Young Eye Surgeons Clinical Committee. A symposium from 3:00–5:00 p.m. will focus on "Nailing the Best IOL Refractive Outcomes." Some of the day's courses will highlight small incision cataract sur- gery, secondary IOL implantation, IOL exchange, intraocular medica- tion choices, and phaco chop. Paper sessions will touch on challenging cases/IFIS, refractive outcomes/ELP/refractive index shaping, SMILE/LASIK, surgical planning, and more. Skills transfer sessions include labs on secondary IOL implanta- tion, ECCE/SICS, and advanced phaco. April 15 A symposium from 8:00–9:30 a.m. will focus on "Surgical Essentials: Getting You Out of Trouble in Cata- ract Surgery." Other symposia later in the day will highlight astigma- tism management and challenging cases. The 2018 Cataract Surgery Olympics will be held from 3:00– 4:30 p.m. Instructional courses will cover topics including subluxated lenses, phaco, extreme cataracts, premium IOLs, and SMILE. Paper sessions will highlight topics related to phaco, IOL power calculations, complications, astigma- tism/toric IOLs, refractive outcomes, LASIK/PRK outcomes, and more. Skills transfer offerings include labs on iris sutures, anterior vitrecto- my, and ECCE/SICS. April 16 A video symposium will take place from 8:00–9:30 a.m. that will high- light complicated and challenging cases in cataract surgery. Other sym- posia will also focus on challenging case management. Courses will touch on ocular surface procedures, understanding topogra- phy and corneal aberrations, endo- thelial keratoplasty, and more. April 17 With sessions wrapping up on Tuesday, there will still be plenty of cornea topics to explore in cours- es and paper sessions, including presentations on keratoprosthesis, pterygium, DMEK, PTK/SMILE/kera- toplasty techniques, managing com- plications in lamellar keratoplasty, microbial keratitis, and more. EW The Annual Meeting will feature a variety of cornea sessions over 5 days April 13 Cornea Day will take place all day Friday, with programming through- out the day devoted to a variety of topics. The program will be broken down into sessions on managing DMEK disasters and other cornea ca- tastrophes; inflammatory eye disease and infectious eye disease; advances and what's trending in ocular sur- face; and "The Great Debate," which will cover topics including cross- linking, cataract surgery and ectasia, ATIOLs and the abnormal cornea, and endothelial disease and cata- racts. For more details on Cornea Day, see page 46. April 14 A symposium on "Diagnostic and Therapeutic Challenges and Solu- tions in Pediatric Cornea" will take place from 1:00–2:30 p.m. This ses- sion will present some of the most challenging disorders in the pediat- ric population and will offer infor- mation on diagnosis and treatment. Attendees can choose to take part in courses on deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK) or Descemet's membrane endothelial keratoplas- ty (DMEK). A number of paper sessions will also highlight cornea topics, including dry eye disease, keratoconus, Descemet's stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK), and crosslinking. April 15 From 8:00–9:30 a.m., a symposium sponsored by the ASCRS Cornea Clinical Committee will provide "Cornea Essentials." Paper sessions will highlight topics relating to kera- toconus and DMEK. Course options include those covering DMEK, re- cent advances in crosslinking, using tissue adhesives, and PDEK. April 16 The topic of crosslinking will be the focus of a symposium from 8:00–9:30 a.m. The Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmologists- sponsored symposium will take place from 3:00–4:30 p.m. and is titled "Sexy Contact Lenses." This session will highlight current contact lens technologies as well as Cornea offerings
