Advocacy Day, which will be held on April 13, encompasses govern- ment relations activities aimed at increasing member engagement in ASCRS' year-round advocacy efforts. This year's Advocacy Day includes the Joint ASCRS•ASOA Government Relations General Session and the annual eyePAC Reception. Joint ASCRS•ASOA Government Relations General Session ASCRS•ASOA is pleased to announce that Amy Walter, political analyst and national editor of the Cook Political Report, will be the featured speaker at the Joint ASCRS•ASOA Government Relations General Session on April 13 from 5:00–6:00 p.m. Ms. Walter has built a reputa- tion as an accurate, objective, and insightful political analyst with unparalleled access to campaign in- siders and decision-makers. Known as one of the best political journal- ists covering Washington, she is the former political director of ABC News. She is also a regular panelist on NBC's Meet the Press, Fox News' Special Report with Bret Baier, and CBS' Face the Nation. She provides political analysis every Monday evening for the PBS NewsHour. In her presentation, Ms. Walter will expertly break down the electoral process, Congressional culture, and the Washington political scene. Her astuteness, wit, and range of exper- tise create an engaging, compelling presentation, and her reliable and accurate analysis has earned her numerous accolades. All registered attendees of the 2018 ASCRS•ASOA Annual Meeting can attend this session and immerse themselves in the political spirit while visiting the nation's capital. 2018 eyePAC Reception ASCRS eyePAC contributors will be recognized and celebrated during an unforgettable evening at the Smith- sonian National Portrait Gallery on April 13 from 7:00–9:00 p.m. Cen- trally located in the vibrant Penn Quarter neighborhood, the National Portrait Gallery features extraor- dinary works of art in a stunning architectural setting. The reception will be held in the Great Hall and Luce Foundation Center, where eyePAC donors and their guests will enjoy drinks and light fare under a skylight that spans a city block. Attendees will also enjoy private access to three levels of the gallery's paintings, sculptures, folk art, and craft collections all on display in this National Historic Landmark building. eyePAC is ASCRS' volun- tary, non-partisan political action committee to which ASCRS mem- bers who are U.S. citizens or legal residents can contribute.
