The rotunda and exhibit hall area are open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., 7 days a week. Visitors can view documents such as the Declaration of Inde- pendence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights. National Building Museum 401 F St. NW www.nbm.org Open from 10:00 a.m. (11:00 a.m. on Sunday) to 5:00 p.m., the Na- tional Building Museum focuses on architecture, design, and engineer- ing. It features various exhibitions, including rotating ones. National Museum of African American History and Culture 1400 Constitution Ave. NW nmaahc.si.edu The National Museum of African American History and Culture has been a popular destination since it opened in 2016. It's open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is the only national museum devoted exclusively to the documentation of African American life, history, and culture, according to its website. Those wishing to visit should obtain advanced timed entry passes. National Museum of American History 1300 Constitution Ave. NW americanhistory.si.edu The National Museum of American History has more than 3 million artifacts. Its exhibits feature themes of American history and culture, including religion, television, and war. The museum is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. National Museum of Natural History 10th St. & Constitution Ave. NW naturalhistory.si.edu This popular museum was first opened in 1910 and is part of the Smithsonian Institution. It houses exhibits focusing on the ocean, dinosaurs, and more, and it is also home to the famous Hope Dia- mond. The museum is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. National Museum of the American Indian 4th St. SW & Independence Ave. SW www.nmai.si.edu The National Museum of the Amer- ican Indian has a commitment to advancing the knowledge and un- derstanding of the Native cultures of the Western Hemisphere. The muse- um is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and features an expansive collection of Native artifacts. National Portrait Gallery 8th St. NW & F St. NW npg.si.edu The National Portrait Gallery is open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and features collections of por- traits, including one of presidential portraits. Smithsonian's National Zoo 3001 Connecticut Ave. NW nationalzoo.si.edu The Smithsonian's National Zoo offers free admission and the oppor- tunity to view a variety of animals, including giant pandas, elephants, lions, tigers, and orangutans. Newseum 555 Pennsylvania Ave. NW www.newseum.org Open from 9:00 a.m. (10:00 a.m. on Sunday) to 5:00 p.m., the Newseum explores the freedoms of the First Amendment and features many interactive exhibits showcasing the evolution of communication and media. The museum uses news- papers, photos, video, and other media to give visitors an immersive experience. Admission is $24.95 for adults. EW
