Bausch + Lomb announced the U.S. launch
of its FortifEYE capsular tension ring. The
capsular tension ring is a preloaded, sterile,
non-optical implant indicated for stabilization
of the crystalline lens capsule when there
are weak or partially absent zonules in adult
patients having cataract extraction and IOL
implantation.

Carl Zeiss Meditec announced the U.S. launch
of the ZEISS CLARUS 500, a high-definition ul-
tra-widefield fundus imaging system. CLARUS
500 is the first fundus imaging system that
combines true color with high-resolution
clarity down to 7 microns in an ultra-widefield
view from the macula to the far periphery.
The system produces images that closely
resemble the coloration of the retina as seen
through direct observation during clinical
examination.

ZEISS CLARUS 500
Haag-Streit received FDA approval for its
Fundus Module 300 slit lamp attachment. The
product attaches directly to the slit lamp for
full, stable integration with the examination
process. The Fundus Module 300 is designed
to enhance the functionality of Haag-Streit
slit lamps. The camera is controlled by the
Haag-Streit control panel, and captured
images are immediately transferred to Haag-
Streit's EyeSuite software.

IOPtima announced the launch of the iLid CO2
Laser-Assisted Blepharoplasty kit. Using the
iLid CO2 laser kit instead of a manual surgical
scalpel, surgeons employ a CO2 laser beam
with adjustable levels of penetration to incise
the upper and lower eyelids and remove
excess fat. The CO2 laser beam also carefully
vaporizes the top layer of the skin, restoring
its surface and finely smoothing the lid.

iLid CO2 Laser-Assisted Blepharoplasty
Imprimis Pharmaceuticals released its patent-
pending Simple Drops, a preservative-free
glaucoma formulation. Simple Drops provides
multiple glaucoma medications in a single
bottle. There are six formulations available,
and each formulation is given in a bottle with
PureFlow technology, allowing for a one-
way valve system that prevents the risk of
contamination.
