EW ASCRS•ASOA 2017 52 ASCRS•ASOA Program Preview • May 5–9, 2017 by ASCRS Staff Several events on Friday, May 5, will be part of Advocacy Day The Special Joint ASCRS•ASOA Gov- ernment Relations General Session and the eyePAC Reception. This year, the Special Joint ASCRS•ASOA Government Rela- tions General Session will be held on Friday from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the 411 Theatre at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The session will feature Tom Coburn, MD, a former Republican senator from Oklaho- ma. Dr. Coburn's address will look at "What's Killing Healthcare," as he provides insights into American healthcare policy, discusses how the system is broken, and shares his per- spective on how to fix it. Dr. Coburn served in the Senate from 2005 to 2015. Before that, he served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 2001. During that time, he served on the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee. After that session, the eyePAC Reception will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the GRAMMY Museum at L.A. Live (800 W. Olympic Boule- vard). The reception is meant to rec- ognize and celebrate eyePAC donors. There are several contribution levels for those interested in attending the eyePAC Reception. Those contribu- tors who meet these levels and in- vited guests are welcome to attend. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to enjoy drinks and light fare in the Third Floor Gallery of the museum, which features the "Roland LIVE" room, where guests have a chance to perform onstage, and the "On the Red Carpet" Ex- hibit, which showcases some of the most memorable GRAMMY Awards outfits. Guests will also have private access to the museum via a self-guid- ed tour. RSVP is required for admis- sion to the event, and attendance is limited to U.S. domestic ASCRS members. Use only Alcon viscoelastic qualified for this device. Do not use the UltraSert if the nozzle appears damaged or deformed. Follow the Directions for Use for correct order and sequence of steps to avoid damage to the IOL or the UltraSert. Careful preoperative evaluation and sound clinical judgment should be used by the surgeon to decide the risk/benefit ratio before implanting a lens in a patient with any of the conditions described in the Directions for Use. Caution should be used prior to lens encapsulation to avoid lens decentrations or dislocations. Studies have shown that color vision discrimination is not adversely affected in individuals with the AcrySof ® Natural IOL and normal color vision. The effect on vision of the AcrySof ® Natural IOL in subjects with hereditary color vision defects and acquired color vision defects secondary to ocular disease (e.g., glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, chronic uveitis, and other retinal or optic nerve diseases) has not been studied.
