UPDATE 11 Young Eye Surgeons (YES) Advanced Cataract Training (ACT) Program: ASCRS and the YES Clinical Committee held the YES Advanced Cataract Training Program in New York. The program offered a weekend of training designed specifically for ophthalmology residents, fellows, and surgeons in the first 5 years of practice. YES ACT is comprised of several components including general education sessions presented by faculty, hands-on wet labs, and roundtable discussions. The inaugural 2016 YES ACT event held in New York was such a success that ASCRS offered the meet- ing again in the fall in Denver. "The wet lab was fantastic," said Narae Ko, MD, a YES ACT attendee. "It is helpful as a young surgeon to be able to try the LRIs and astigmat- ic surgical procedures." 2016 Combined Ophthalmic Symposium: The 2016 meeting was held in August in Austin, Texas, where more than 600 attendees gathered for this unique learning opportunity. The meeting provided education for an entire practice in one week- end, offering integrated programs for young eye surgeons, practice management staff, ophthalmolo- gists, optometrists, and nurses and technicians. Interactive sessions and panel discussions were offered on a range of topics relevant to each audience. The meeting will be held again on August 11–13, 2017. Online learning, networking, and tools ASCRS Center for Learning: In May 2016, ASCRS launched the Center for Learning, which serves as the physician's source for the most cur- rent and relevant anterior segment content. The Center for Learning allows members to browse content and gives them the ability to search and filter content by type, subspecial- ty, meeting and session, surgical topic, clinical committee, date, and availability. The Center for Learning is accessible via computer, tablet, or smartphone, which means it can be accessed anytime, anywhere. Review available activities and learn more about the Center for Learning at ascrs.org/learn. CME 24/7: ASCRS launched ASCRS CME 24/7, an on-the-go continuing medical education platform with online courses curated by ASCRS. The content is available as a benefit to ASCRS members, and nonmember pricing varies based on individual course listings. The con- tent in CME 24/7 covers a variety of areas, including cataract, presbyopia correction, keratorefractive, cornea, glaucoma, retina, pediatric, and non-clinical. CME 24/7 is a one-stop shop that allows users to receive AMA PRA Category 1 Credits in an accessible, convenient location. Learn more about ASCRS CME 24/7 at purchase.ascrs.org. "ASCRS CME 24/7 allows physi- cians to shape their own education by choosing courses 'on demand' that meet their specific interests, needs, and time constraints," said Manjool Shah, MD, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dr. Shah is a member of the ASCRS Online Learning Subcommittee.
