EW NEWS & OPINION 12 August 2016 transportation, mileage reimburse- ment and parking, and meals not covered by the program. The YES Clinical Committee has also played an integral part in YES ACT. The program faculty includes several members of the YES Clinical Committee. The YES Clinical Com- mittee was established to serve as a resource for timely information for the young ophthalmology member- ship of ASCRS. "The ASCRS YES ACT meeting provides a unique opportunity to supplement a young surgeon's surgi- cal skill set, encompassing didactics focused on advanced surgical tech- niques and technology, as well as thorough hands-on experience with a wet lab that includes femtosecond laser experience and astigmatism management with corneal relaxing incisions," said Elizabeth Yeu, MD, Virginia Eye Consultants, Norfolk, Virginia. Dr. Yeu is chair of the YES Clinical Committee. The YES ACT program held in March in New York was such a success that ASCRS will be holding another weekend program this fall. The fall YES ACT program is being held September 24–25 in Denver at the Denver Marriott City Center. The program chairs for YES ACT Denver are Dr. Yeu and Terry Kim, MD, Duke University Eye Cen- ter, Durham, North Carolina. The program committee is comprised of Richard Davidson, MD, University of Colorado Hospital Eye Center; Zachary Zavodni, MD, The Eye Institute of Utah, Salt Lake City; and Charles Weber, MD, The Eye Insti- tute of Utah. Current ASCRS members who are U.S. residents, fellows, or in their first five years of practice can register now for YES ACT Denver. Regis- tration is free and a $500 stipend is available to U.S. residents and fellows traveling from outside the greater Denver area. Practicing phy- sicians who are ASCRS members can register for $100. For those who are not current members, ASCRS offers complimentary membership for U.S. residents and fellows in ophthalmol- ogy, and young surgeons in their first two years of practice may quali- fy for reduced ASCRS membership.
