Cornea Society News – published quarterly by the Cornea Society 10
S
ubmissions to the
Cornea Society's
journal, Cornea,
continue to increase
in number and quality. The
journal is now receiving
more than 100 new sub-
missions each month. This
allows us to increase our
selectivity; although with
increased pages per volume,
the acceptance rate remains
about 30%. The increased
number of papers requires an increased
number of reviews and reviewers. I encourage invited
reviewers to accept this critical chance to evaluate and
improve our science. Interested new reviewers can noti-
fy Leslie Burke at lburke@corneasociety.org.

n order to better understand practice patterns related to
empiric treatment for positive cornea donor rim cultures,
the University of Maryland is conducting a brief online
survey and requesting participation from ophthalmologists
who perform penetrating and endothelial keratoplasty. The

Your contribution is greatly appreciated. Any questions
can be sent to Jordan Margo, PGY-4, Department of

olters Kluwer is pleased
to announce the launch
of altmetrics in Cornea.
Altmetrics are a way to
track the visibility of an article. With
altmetrics, you will be able to:
• Track online attention surrounding
every article
• Watch all the conversations at once
from Twitter, Facebook, science blogs,
mainstream news outlets, and many
more sources
• See how an article measures up; each
article has a score that measures the
quantity and quality of attention it has
received to date
To access the altmetrics for an arti-
cle, find the article on Corneajrnl.com
and view the "Article Level Metrics" box
on the right side of the page.
Click on the "See more details" link
to view more information about the
score. CN
