She further explained that the Young Eye Surgeons (YES) Advanced Cataract Training Program attendees will "gain a deeper understanding of how to manage more complex cataract surgeries, including small pupils and zonular instability; review the various components of refractive cataract surgery, includ- ing the surgical management of astigmatism, diagnostic devices and advanced technology IOLs," and the program will "encourage familiarity with anterior segment surgical devic- es and techniques through a broad wet lab experience." The Young Eye Surgeons (YES) Advanced Cataract Training Pro- gram is a new interactive experience unique for ophthalmologists in training and in their first 5 years of practice. In addition to this regional meeting, ASCRS provides year-round educational resources for young surgeons. U.S. residents and fellows in ophthalmology qualify for complimentary memberships, and young surgeons in their first 2 years of practice may also qualify for reduced ASCRS membership.
