Adler Planetarium 1300 S. Lake Shore Dr. 312-922-7827 www.adlerplanetarium.org The Adler Planetarium boasts being America's first planetarium and has 3 different theaters with a number of shows and daily programming. It is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Prices range from $12 for general admission for adults to $24.95 for the basic pass to $29.95 and $34.95 for types of all-access passes. John Hancock Observatory 875 N. Michigan Ave. www.360chicago.com Now called 360 Chicago, visitors can take in views of Chicago and the Magnificent Mile from 94 floors above ground here. Open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Prices are $18 for adults and $12 for children ages 3–11. You also may want to try TILT, the new experience for an additional $5 that extends visitors over the Magnificent Mile and Chicago for a downward facing view. Millennium Park 201 E. Randolph St. 312-742-1168 www.cityofchicago.org Visit Chicago's Millennium Park, a 24.5-acre park in the middle of the city, with museums, events, and works of art. Cloud Gate www.cityofchicago.org This sculpture, often referred to as "The Bean," was designed by Anish Kapoor. It is made of stainless steel plates welded together and is 66-feet long by 33-feet high. It features a 12-foot high arch with a "gate" to the chamber beneath the sculpture, with the entire structure providing reflections of Chicago's skyline and the sky. Crown Fountain www.cityofchicago.org This fountain features two 50-foot glass block towers with a reflecting pool in between them. The towers show video images to represent the social spectrum of Chicago citizens. Chicago restaurants Located on the 16th floor of the Chicago Trump International Hotel & Tower, Sixteen offers fixed menus and a la carte selections. Open since 2008, the restaurant has a variety of salads, pastas, and pizza. Diversey Ave. 773-661-9170 www.eatfatrice.com Cuisine: Asian Fat Rice's website states that it is influenced by the travels of the Portuguese in the past 500 years. Its goal is to serve Euro-Asian comfort food, with influences from China, India, and Southeast Asia. Drinks are influenced by the Iberian Peninsula. Frontera Grill 445 N.
