SPRING 2026 | EYEWORLD | 47 ASCRS ANNUAL MEETING PREVIEW ASCRS Digital Clinical Committee on Sunday, April 12. Sunday is also known as "Retina Sun- day" on the ASOA program, featuring several sessions relevant to running retina practices. In addition to nearly 100 educational ses- sions (including more Masters level classes) and workshops that will take place throughout the duration of the meeting, Monday wraps up with a second keynote speaker, Will Hall, who will help attendees learn how to apply what they've learned at the meeting, turning their insights into impact. This year, the ASOA Networking Lounge has been expanded to include more industry ex- hibitors and more opportunities for networking and engagement. "A successful practice requires a partnership between all aspects of the practice—the phy- sician, the administrator, and their techs and nurses," said Tiffany Perlberg, ASOA Sr. Pro- gram Manager. "Being able to have a one-stop place for education where each member of the practice can go, learn in their individual areas, and come together afterward … is something that you can't get anywhere else." T he ASOA Annual Meeting is gearing up for something special in Washing- ton, D.C.—its 40th anniversary. The meeting will feature several events to celebrate the Society's 40th, in addi- tion to the networking and practice management sessions for which the meeting is known. The Society was founded in 1986 by practice admin- istrator Lucy Santiago, FASOA. The meeting will feature recognition of Ms. Santiago and those who transformed and led the Society. There will be a reception on Saturday, April 11 from 5:00– 6:00 p.m. in the ASOA Networking Lounge. "Celebrating ASOA's 40th anniversary is a moment to honor the vision and leadership that built this organization, while recognizing the members who continue to shape its future. It has been a true honor for me to serve as ASOA President during this milestone year and to celebrate this moment at the Annual Meeting, where our community comes together in the same spirit that launched ASOA—connection, learning, and shared leadership," said Carrie Jacobs, COE. "The ASOA Annual Meeting highlights not only the strength of our membership but also the essential role our industry partners play in advancing ophthalmic practice management. These partnerships fuel innovation, education, and real-world solutions for our members, and the Annual Meeting provides a powerful forum for collaboration," said Abigail Markward, MBA, ASOA Executive Director. ASOA's headlining feature is its Saturday General Session, from 8:30–10:00 a.m., which, in addition to an address from the incoming president and awards and recognitions, includes an engaging keynote speaker. This year's key- note is Anton Gunn, who will speak on "Leading Through Uncertainty." Also appearing on the Main Stage is the ASOA Hot Topics Panel. During this Gener- al Session, a moderated panel will take live questions from the audience. This session was well received last year and is expected to drive authentic, lively discussion this year. Returning to the ASOA Annual Meeting is "Aii: Adoption, Integration, Implementation." This session made its debut last year and this year is being presented in conjunction with the Celebrating 40 years of ASOA at the Annual Meeting The Business of Interventional Glaucoma returns for the second year, featuring a full-day program on April 9 ahead of the ASOA and ASCRS Annual Meetings.
