28 | EYEWORLD | SPRING 2026 ASCRS NEWS ASCRS ANNUAL MEETING PREVIEW Highlights of the 2026 Annual Meeting THURSDAY, APRIL 9 SightLine at ASCRS 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. This one-day program, presented by ASCRS and ASOA, will bring together leaders across ophthalmology to examine the business, policy, and market forces shaping the future of the field. The 2026 program will focus on how ophthalmology and government intersect. Business of Interventional Glaucoma 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. The Business of Interventional Glaucoma program seeks to provide ophthalmology professionals with the tools and strategies needed to effectively manage and grow interventional glaucoma services. FRIDAY, APRIL 10 ASCRS Subspecialty Day 8:00 a.m.–3:45 p.m. Programming for ASCRS Subspecialty Day will cover a variety of topics in refractive, cornea, and glaucoma. ASCRS Exhibit Hall 12:00–5:00 p.m. The ASCRS Exhibit Hall will be open from 12:00–5:00 p.m. on Friday and 9:00 a.m.– 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Attend- ees can browse the many booths, visit the Tap Room, enjoy the Community Hub, join Braindate sessions, attend industry presenta- tions, and more. ASCRS will also be providing lunch in the Exhibit Hall on all 3 days. YES Skills Transfer Labs Throughout the day will be YES Skills Transfer Labs on phaco, MIGS, DMEK/DSAEK, DALK, refractive, ICL, and the Yamane technique. ASCRS ASOA Party for a Purpose 8:00–11:00 p.m. Attendees can enjoy a night of fun and philanthropy at this event, with donations benefiting the ASCRS Foundation. It will be held at the Westin DC Downtown. ASCRS, ASOA, and industry attendees, as well as their guests, are welcome (bring your Annual Meeting badge for entry; attendees of Party for a Purpose must be 21 or older). SATURDAY, APRIL 11 Volunteerism in Domestic Humanitarian Eyecare: Be the Change You Wish to See 8:30–9:30 a.m. This ASCRS Foundation symposium will include data and metrics around domestic needs, specific examples of mobilization and collaboration, and an overview of the Operation Sight domestic humanitarian cataract surgery program. ASOA Saturday General Session 8:30–10:00 a.m. The ASOA Saturday General Session is titled, "Leading Through Uncertainty." The session will feature keynote speaker Anton Gunn and is sponsored by Vital Interaction. ASCRS Main Stage 10:30–11:30 a.m. This Main Stage event will feature the Cornelius D. Binkhorst, MD, Lecture given by Kerry Solomon, MD, and interviews with the incoming and outgoing ASCRS Presidents, the Chang-Crandall Humanitarian Award, and the ASCRS Hall of Fame Ceremony. Lunch in the Exhibit Hall 11:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Complimentary lunch will be served in the Exhibit Hall.
