48 | EYEWORLD | SPRING 2024 ASCRS NEWS About the sources Megan Odell ASOA Executive Director Tiffany Perlberg ASOA Meeting Program Manager Contact Odell: megan@asoa.org Perlberg: Tiffany@asoa.org will participate. "It's like vendor speed dating. Each exhibitor will get 15 minutes to showcase their product or service," Ms. Odell said. "The twist is they have to present with an ASOA ad- ministrator who partners with them." ASOA is also introducing a new hybrid session type at the meeting, called Campfire Sessions. These sessions are a combination of the organization's educational courses and its ever-popular roundtables. A facilitator will kick off the session with a brief presentation on a topic before it transitions into a more organic, roundtable-like conversation with the broader audience. "We heard a lot last year that attendees wanted more advanced courses," Ms. Perlberg said. "Seasoned practice administrators crave peer-to-peer discussion, and I hope these Camp- fire Sessions will fill that gap." Three Campfire Session topics will take place simultaneously on Sunday, April 6, and Monday, April 7, from 9:45–10:45 a.m. ASOA courses and roundtables will take place Saturday–Monday at the meeting, and the Networking and Engagement Lounge will be open Friday–Monday (with the vendor show- case reception Friday from 4:00–5:30 p.m. and ASOA exhibits all day Saturday). For the most up-to-date information on programming and events, be sure to check the Annual Meeting program or the ASCRS ASOA Meeting App. T he ASOA Annual Meeting is back this year in Boston, and Megan Odell, ASOA executive director, and Tiffa- ny Perlberg, ASOA meeting program manager, shared information on what's new and exciting for this year's program. The ASOA program will kick off on Friday, April 5, with two general sessions. The first will focus on key takeaways to succeed in 2024. The second will feature on hot topics related to all aspects of practice management. A panel in this second general session will answer pre-sub- mitted questions on topics that the audience is most interested in hearing about. On Saturday, ASOA will hold its annual Saturday general session, which will feature best-selling author and two-time TEDx guest speaker Anne Grady. Other features of running throughout the ASOA program include optional lunch pro- grams, roundtables, and unique opportunities to network with exhibitors. There are also courses on a wide variety of topics including business operations, coding and billing, human re- sources, leadership and strategic management, marketing and business development, and risk management and compliance. There are also several new things to expect at ASOA 2024. Something new we're introducing this year is the vendor showcase, Ms. Perlberg said.
