A symposium Monday afternoon will highlight "Refractive Cataract Surgery for the Comprehensive Oph- thalmologist" and will take place from 2:00–4:00 p.m., covering topics like patient education, monovision, and multifocals. Tuesday, Oct. 30 On the final day of the meeting, breakfast sessions will highlight drop-free cataract surgery, IOL monovision and cataract refractive surgery, perioperative management of ocular surface disease, and more. Instruction courses will cover AMD IOLs, ophthalmic viscosurgical devices in cataract surgery, capsule complications, and more. There will also be a paper session focusing on cataract from 10:15–11:45 a.m. EW Two other Sunday afternoon symposia will be "Cataract Con- troversies on Trial" and "Practical Guides to the Dilemma of Managing Cataract in Glaucoma Patients." These sessions will take place from 2:00–3:30 p.m. The "Ophthalmic Premier League" session, a team- based video competition, will take place from 3:45–5:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29 On Monday, an extensive sympo- sium from 8:15 a.m.–12:15 p.m. will cover "Spotlight on Cataract Complications: Pressure Cooker – Managing Nerve-racking Complica- tions." The session will cover topics like zonular dialysis, dense white cataracts, IOL exchange, IOL sub- luxation, and AC shallowing. It will feature the Kelman Lecture to be given by Robert Cionni, MD, on "Dealing with Damaged Zonules." Instruction courses on Monday will cover such cataract "Diagnose This Live" will take place in room N427ABC. The Learning Lounge and Acad- emy Café will also have sessions highlighting cataract topics on Saturday. Sunday, Oct. 28 Several "Breakfast with Experts" sessions on Sunday morning will highlight cataract topics. There will also be courses covering topics such as challenging cases and intraoper- ative complications, pediatric oph- thalmology, phaco and advanced techniques, cataract surgery and uveitis, and more. The "Cataract Surgery: The Cutting Edge" symposium will take place on Sunday afternoon from 12:15–1:45 p.m. in room E354. The session will cover topics such as FLACS, pupil expanders, zonular advances, new IOLs, and prosthetic iris advances. Throughout the AAO Annual Meeting in Chicago, there will be many sessions focusing on cataract topics Saturday, Oct. 27 On Saturday morning, a section of Cornea Subspecialty Day will high- light "Anterior Segment Imaging – Tried and True and a New View." It will take place in Grand Ballroom S110AB and will cover such topics as preoperative and intraoperative imaging for cataract surgery. Also on Saturday morning, a paper session from 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. will cover a variety of cataract topics in room S405. A symposium from 2:00–4:00 p.m. will be an interactive session, where attendees will be divided into teams and compete to make a diagnosis in different scenarios.
