"I feel very lucky because every day we see interesting patients," Dr. Trattler said, adding that they bounce ideas off of each other about cases that are challenging clinically and relating to patient education. Dr. Trattler praised Dr. Loh for her leadership in starting her own practice. "There are so many chal- lenges to starting your own prac- tice," Dr. Trattler said. "At the end of the day, what Jen found was that it gives you a chance to be a leader in the practice and help design the care you want to give to your patients." Dr. Loh added that the transi- tion has been a challenge but in a good way. She said that Dr. Trat- tler has been a great supporter in building her practice. "We have this synergy together. Even though he's not officially part of my practice, it's wonderful having him there," she said. Couple shares both clinical interests and hobbies Dr. Loh and Dr. Trattler on their honeymoon in Switzerland Dr. Trattler and Dr. Loh at the 2018 Hawaiian Eye meeting Dr. Trattler and Dr. Loh practice separately in Florida but travel frequently to meetings around the world W illiam Trattler, MD, and Jennifer Loh, MD, have found ophthalmology a key part of their personal and professional lives. The pair first met at an ophthalmology meeting in Florida. Now, years later, they enjoy combining their personal and professional lives, including travel- ing to various ophthalmic meetings throughout the year. They both practice in Miami, though in sep- arate practices, and just celebrated the birth of their son in late 2018. They first met at the Palm Beach Ophthalmology Society meeting in 2013, where Dr. Trattler was lectur- ing. Today, Dr. Trattler practices at the Center for Excellence in Eye Care in Miami. Three years ago, Dr. Loh opened her own private practice in Miami, Loh Ophthalmol- ogy Associates, which is part of Eye Physicians of Florida. "We've never continued on page 82 Outside the OR
